XPlus is getting back into the game with a release of a new Universal Monster line of model kits. First up is Bela Lugosi as Dracula and then The Revenge of the Creature. These look great and I saw a sign in the back of the Creature picture that indicates there will be more on the way. Expected in September. I can't wait!

Speaking of Neca, the next Universal Monster they are releasing is The Bride of Frankenstein. I find it refreshing they have her hair the reddish brown color as it really was instead of the black hair color which is more commonly used on figures which I believe was due to Aurora models color chart. I think she looks better with black hair but Neca keeps it real, Also Neca is releasing The Phantom of the Opera next week. Both are must haves!
The Universal Monster soapies from Super 7 are finally here! Available in either glorious technicolor or classic silver screen black and white. I need both styles! Based on the Soaky bubble bath toys from the 60's, these are ultra cool and a must have! They come as a set of 6 or you can get them individually.Strange thing is the Mutant is only sold separately not in the set of 6 they offer. These are going to go quick trust me! The 4 glow ones they released last year are already hard to find.
Here we go! On to year number 24. The numbers are in and they are still good so I renewed for another year. Thank you for your support! Lately there has been quite a lot of licensed Universal Monster merchandise which is a good thing. Still issues with the likeness with the exception of Neca and XPlus.Being a collector I am still not complaining too much because sometimes it is hard keeping up with everything coming out but that is a good problem to have. It is all about the thrill of the hunt. They do seem to license the same 7 characters mostly. How about something different. How about a couple more Werewolf of London figures. If Universal can't get Lugosis' likeness how about a John Carradine Dracula or a Spanish Dracula figure. They were part of the show. Not these made up characatures of Dracula which ruins the legacy of Lugosi. I would even like to see a line of figures of the mad doors of Universal Monster movies. Who would not want a Dr. Pretorius figure? Sign me up! I would even like to see a line of figures of the women of Universal Monsters movies. I will take a Evelyn Ankers as Gwen Conliff from The Wolfman please. What do you think? Universal marketing are you listening?
